Project A.C.T.I.O.N.  (Spanish)

Project A.C.T.I.O.N.

Provide a safe and healthy environment that promotes academic enrichment and student involvement in the school and community.  It is our goal to make available a wide variety of academic and enrichment opportunities that can both attract students to a drug-free atmosphere and help them develop a well-rounded character.

Program Description

Homework/Academic Support – Project A.C.T.I.O.N. Leaders create homework time daily in a quiet, safe and welcoming environment.  All programs have Bilingual staff.  Computer use and Internet access is also available upon request. CSU Stanislaus students provide academic support at Riverbank High School, A.C.T.I.O.N.  Leaders and teachers provide homework help at Cardozo and A.C.T.I.O.N. Leaders provide assistance at California Ave., Rio Altura and Riverbank Language Academy programs.  Math Academy High School students provide support in math at the elementary school sites. All schools in the Riverbank School Dictrict currently operate a Before School Program from 6:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. every school day.

Enrichment:  Riverbank High School and Cardozo Middle School provide six weeks long enrichment classes and meet twice a week for two hours.  Varieties of classes are offered each session and are determined by student surveys and feedback; as well as, teacher suggestions.  Rio Altura, Riverbank Language Academy and California Ave. sites provide a number of academic, visual arts, social enrichment programs throughout the year.  Fieldtrips are planned monthly that allow students to experience life beyond the school campus.

Service to the Community: Project A.C.T.I.O.N. strongly encourages service to the community by providing opportunities for students to develop more awareness of the world around them and shape their values about community. At this key time in their development, it shows them they have something important to offer the world.

Student Wellness:  Each Project A.C.T.I.O.N. site provides student wellness access to a social worker, Master of Social Worker students, student assistant specialist and/or peer support team members. Kids Count teaches violence prevention to elementary students and teaches them about contributing towards peaceful world.  Students recognize their strengths and resources in order to grow as individuals, improve academics, and strengthen personal relationships.

Snacks:  are served and provided by Riverbank Unified School District Food Services program Monday through Friday.

Transportation: is offered to Cardozo, R.L.A. and Rio Altura students.  Free Trolly tickets are available every day to Riverbank High School students.
